TikTok, according to Mark Cuban, is the “future of social media”

Mark Cuban thinks TikTok- or its short video style- will still exist for potentially unexpected reasons.

In a new episode of The Colin Cowherd Podcast hosted by Fox Sports host Colin Cowherd, Cubans dubbed TikTok “the future of sports media,” noting that the app’s algorithms. Powered by artificial intelligence, adapt their suggestions for short-term concerns tailoring both to consumers personal interests.

“TikTok uses AI to showcase the things you’re interested in,” said billionaire investor and owner of the Dallas Mavericks. “If my son and I liked killing Luka Doncic, NBA stuff and dogs, [we] would get that stream … That’s the future of sports media because we’re not going to get our 16 or 12-year-olds year-olds.” or 15 years to sit the whole game.

One Cuban cites baseball as a sport with relatively long delays between games as a prime example.

He suggested that Major League Baseball create its TikTok version of “RedZone for MLB” a reference to the NFL channel NFL RedZone. Where fans can see only the bats most influenced by their favorite team or player in real-time.

MLB’s TikTok’ s account has 5 million followers, making it relatively popular. But last season set a new record for the longest playing nine innings average. 3 hours, 10 minutes, also 7 seconds, due to the commissioner’s office.

In recent years, the coalition has expanded its focus on “speed of play” by testing several game acceleration initiatives. Unfortunately, none of these initiatives contain any TikTok-related elements at least not yet.

For Cubans, the potential impact of social media platforms extends beyond the realm of sports. He says all businesses need to learn from using TikTok’s AI to target their customer base. Just as companies had to adapt to everyday computing decades ago.
