2026 Cannes Film Festival Red Carpet: Fashion’s Most Glamorous Moments

The 2026 Cannes Film Festival has officially begun on the French Riviera, and the red carpet outside the Grand Théâtre Lumière is already delivering some of the season’s most breathtaking fashion moments. The annual festival, one of cinema’s most prestigious gatherings, opened with a ceremony hosted by French-Malian actress Eye Haïdara, setting an elegant tone for the weeks ahead.

A Star-Studded Jury Makes Its Mark

This year’s jury is as stylish as it is accomplished. Presiding over the committee is Park Chan-wook, making history as the first Korean jury president at Cannes. Joining him are acclaimed names including Demi Moore, Ruth Negga, Chloé Zhao, and Stellan Skarsgård — each of whom turned the opening red carpet into a personal fashion statement.

Opening Night Looks That Stole the Show

The first day of the carpet saw a parade of designer excellence. Demi Moore commanded attention in a fitted, sparkly Jacquemus dress before later appearing in Gucci. Ruth Negga brought quiet sophistication in Saint Laurent, accessorised with Chopard jewels. Gillian Anderson opted for Miu Miu paired with Chaumet jewellery, while Emily in Paris star Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu turned heads in an airy purple Saint Laurent gown by Anthony Vaccarello. Leila Bekhti rounded out the highlights in a dramatic Schiaparelli look.

The festival’s opening film, The Electric Venus by Pierre Salvadori, screened following a live performance by Theodora and Oklou. With two more weeks of screenings, premieres, and red carpet appearances still to come, Cannes 2026 is shaping up to be a landmark year for both cinema and style.
