Buffett, a longtime Nebraska fan, first requested to meet Suh before a game against rival Oklahoma. The meeting was short, but a friend encouraged Suh to pursue a deeper conversation with the Berkshire Hathaway chairman. Suh doubted Buffett would have time for him, but decided he had nothing to lose by asking. To his surprise, Buffett agreed. Wanting to make a strong impression, Suh showed up at Buffett’s office hours before their scheduled meeting.
