Jonathan Anderson Designed Taylor Swift’s Dior Wedding Gown
Taylor Swift married Travis Kelce on July 3 in a lavish ceremony held on the arena floor of Madison Square Garden, and the bride’s dress has become the talk of the fashion world. After months of speculation about which designer would win the honor, Swift chose Jonathan Anderson to create a custom gown for Christian Dior. She paired the dress with Cartier jewelry and custom Christian Louboutin shoes, while Kelce wore a matching custom Dior suit with his own pair of Louboutins.
A Friendship Behind the Design
Speaking with WWD following his fall 2026 couture presentation for Dior, Anderson reflected on the experience of dressing Swift for her big day. He described the collaboration as a joyful one and noted that the process brought the two closer, calling their bond a genuine friendship. Anderson also acknowledged the emotional weight of being trusted with such a milestone moment in someone’s life.
Hints Dropped Before the Big Reveal
Eagle-eyed fans may have spotted a clue months earlier. In April, Swift was photographed carrying a yellow limited-edition mini Lady Dior bag, one of Anderson’s early standout designs for the house, featuring floral and bee embellishments. Additional speculation swirled around the finale look from Anderson’s couture show, an off-the-shoulder sheath gown with a dramatic train covered in floral and fern detailing, which closely echoed elements reportedly used in the wedding’s decor and theme.
While Anderson has dressed many celebrities for red carpets and premieres, this marked his first time creating a custom bridal look for Swift, cementing a new chapter in the pop star’s long relationship with high fashion.
