Coachella 2026: Stars Reinvent Boho Style With a Modern Edge

Weekend one of Coachella 2026 delivered more than headline performances — it served as a runway for a refreshed take on the festival’s signature boho aesthetic. Stars including Lisa, Anya Taylor-Joy, Teyana Taylor, and Chappell Roan proved that free-spirited fashion is far from finished, but it has evolved considerably from the flower crown-heavy looks of the 2010s.

Boho Gets a Sleek Makeover

BLACKPINK’s Lisa set the tone by pairing a white macramé mini dress with an oversized leather jacket and cowboy boots — boho at its core, but edgier and more refined. Anya Taylor-Joy followed a similar formula, combining a laced camisole top with sleek leather trousers and a bold red Gucci bag. The result was a polished, boho-adjacent look that felt thoroughly modern.

This quiet refinement reflects broader shifts in fashion. After years of quiet luxury and stealth wealth dominating style conversations, Coachella’s boho spirit is making a comeback — but on its own updated terms. Labels like Chloé, Staud, and Zimmermann are helping drive the shift with contemporary boho-inspired pieces.

When Boho Goes Maximalist

Not everyone played it subtle, however. Teyana Taylor turned heads at the Revolve Festival in a silver netted, fringed dress accessorised with an avant-garde Schiaparelli face piece. Chappell Roan leaned fully into renaissance-inspired dressing, complete with puffed sleeves and an embroidered vest.

With weekend two now underway, expect even more plaid, fringe, and statement dressing from the desert’s most stylish crowd.
