Nicki Minaj wore a barbiecore style at the 2022 VMAs in 2 dazzling pink outfits from head to toe

Nicki Minaj takes the stage for the first time since 2018 to receive this year’s Video Vanguard Award.

The rap queen made a grand entrance with an incredible medley, making it her first VMA appearance since 2018.

Minaj dominated the stage in fishnet stockings and a dazzling version of her signature pink uniform a diamond-cut top with holographic gems, a baby pink pleated miniskirt, and stiletto-heeled combat boots. She kept her beauty looking pink with a hot pink wig adorned with latex ribbon and sharp nails.

The “avant-garde video queen” returned to the stage for her carry-on in a fuchsia one-shoulder satin gown. That flattered her curves, topped off a bejeweled bodice, and made a bold statement with a slit at the waist. She combined her look with a simple necklace and heels. Minaj, 39, received the annual Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award this year.

During his speech, he thanked his fellow artists who have inspired him – including Lil’ Wayne, JAY-Z, Rihanna, Kanye West, Beyoncé, Britney Spears, and many more.

She also thanked her army of fans known as Barbz and dedicated the award to her 23-month-old son “Papa Bear,” which she shares with husband Kenneth “Zoo” Petty.

Mental health was another topic in Minai’s speech.

“I wish Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson were still here,” he said. “I want people to understand what they mean and what they’re going through. I hope people will take mental health seriously, even for people we think have perfect lives. I hope Pop Smoke and Juice WRLD and Nipsey Hussle are here. Minaj’s latest look joins a repertoire of iconic outfits that stretches from her last Met Gala moment to her first VMA show in 2010.

For her 1st of many appearances on the MTV show, she posed in a nude jumpsuit, spiked high heels. And her signature pink wig with bangs. The following year, she stepped up the game with a kitsch anime-inspired outfit. Including a large metallic pink dress with a luxurious train.
