Apple’s “Surprise and Shine” Event to Unveil Foldable iPhone

Apple is set to host one of its most anticipated product launches in years at its “Surprise and Shine” event this Wednesday, marking the first major showcase under newly appointed CEO John Ternus, who took over leadership on September 1.

A Foldable iPhone Takes Center Stage

The event’s headline product is expected to be Apple’s long-rumored foldable device, likely branded the iPhone Ultra. Reports suggest a book-style design featuring a 7.8-inch inner display alongside a 5.5-inch outer screen, positioning Apple to finally compete in the foldable smartphone category long dominated by Samsung. Pricing estimates range between $2,000 and $2,500, with limited initial availability anticipated. Alongside the foldable, Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, both powered by the new A20 Pro chip and featuring a smaller Dynamic Island along with improved front cameras. Industry analysts have forecast notable price increases across the Pro lineup compared to last year’s models.

Beyond the iPhone Lineup

Apple is also expected to refresh its wearables and home tech offerings. New Apple Watch models, including a Series 12 and Ultra 4, may debut with faster processors and expanded health tracking features. Updated AirPods with health sensors and on-ear controls are rumored as well. Looking further ahead, Apple appears to be expanding into new categories, including a smart home hub and its first Apple TV update since 2022.

With Ternus now steering product strategy, Wednesday’s event could signal both a technological and leadership turning point for the company.
