Paris Fashion Week 2027: Denim Takes Center Stage in Menswear
Denim emerged as one of the defining fabrics of Paris Men’s Fashion Week, with designers reworking the everyday material into standout pieces for the Spring/Summer 2027 season. From tailored shorts to slim-cut jeans, the collections signaled that denim is shedding its casual reputation in favor of runway-ready sophistication.
Luxury Houses Reinvent Classic Cuts
At Dior, Jonathan Anderson wove denim into an otherwise formal collection built around embroidered and tuxedo-style shirts, using colorful, textured slim jeans and frayed, sun-bleached shorts to soften the overall look. Louis Vuitton leaned into a surf-inspired theme, presenting jean shorts in varying lengths alongside soft blue washes, shell embellishments, and a sun-faded multi-pocket safari jacket. Other houses embraced exposed hems and cutoffs, including Willy Chavarria, Egonlab, and Acne Studios, the latter channeling early-2000s denim energy with bold colors and lower rises.
Skinny Jeans and Statement Details Return
Skinny jeans made a strong comeback across multiple shows, following a similar move from Prada in Milan the week before. Celine paired inky blue skinny jeans with beaded belt detailing and reintroduced 2010s-style double knee slits, while Vetements added dangling key chains to jeans with unraveled hems. Designers such as Feng Chen Wang and Hed Mayner experimented with twisted seams and pleated yokes, and Issey Miyake incorporated high-low washes into deconstructed denim suiting.
Not every label pushed boundaries, however. Ssstein, Sacai, Auralee, and Kenzo offered more wearable, classic silhouettes, proving that alongside the season’s experimental spirit, timeless denim fits remain firmly in style.
