WHO advises that Europe is “once again” the epicenter of Covid
Thank you for joining us today. As our live stream ends, here are some of the key events on Thursday in the pandemic:
The WHO warned that Europe faced 700,000 new deaths in March and described the continent as the epicenter of the current phase of the pandemic.
However, the Global Health Organization has also urged rich countries to donate doses of Covid injections before vaccinating children less susceptible to severe illness and death. Many European countries are considering or have imposed new restrictions on Covid as cases continue to rise across the continent.
On the last day, Poland reported more than 28,000 cases, the Czech Republic. More than 25,000, while Slovakia had the highest increase in the number of infected people per capita in the world.
With that in mind, the Netherlands will announce new restrictions on Thursday. After daily cases hit record levels there, too – with nearly 24,000 new patients reported.
In the UK, there have been more than 43,000 cases of the new coronavirus in the last day.
After sending fake bombs to a Covid vaccine factory in Wales, a man has been jailed. Which closed the facility briefly. NFL star Aaron Rodgers told American media he developed a case of painful “Covid’s toe” after colliding with the virus earlier this month.
This condition causes discoloration or sores around the toes. And researchers believe it’s caused by an excess of interferon, a protein the body uses to fight infection. After Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings, Rodgers told reporters that his condition was “very, very painful.”
The Green Bay Packers quarterback sparked controversy over his vaccination status. When he tested positive for Covid-19 and entered a 10-day quarantine. The minimum time an unvaccinated player must be quarantined under NFL rules…
However, in August, he appeared to have received the sting and told reporters he was “immunized. He later said he was monitoring his antibody levels and treating his infection with ivermectin at the suggestion of podcast host Joe Rogan.
