UAE President’s brother Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan dies

UAE President’s brother, Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, passed away due to a health problem. He was the representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi and had been in the position since June 2010. Born in 1965 in Al Ain, Sheikh Saeed had also served as the Undersecretary of the Department of Planning in Abu Dhabi and was a representative of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
In response to his passing, the Presidential Court declared an official mourning period of three days. During this time, flags will be flown at half-mast as a mark of respect. The mourning period started on Thursday, July 27, and will end on Saturday, July 29.
UAE President’s brother Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed’s contributions to Abu Dhabi included his role as a former member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council (ADCED) and Chairman of the Maritime Port Authority (Abu Dhabi). His dedication and service to the nation will be remembered during the mourning period as the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, mourns the loss of his brother.
