On Tuesday, the Netflix Get Organized with The Home Edit star announced that she is officially cancer-free. Posting photos and videos with her husband, John Shearer, of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.

In April, Clea PEOPLE exclusively revealed that she had been diagnosed with invasive breast cancer, an aggressive form of breast cancer.

“I’m done! Today marks my journey from cancer patient to cancer survivor. I haven’t stopped crying since I rang the bell,” Clea, 40, began her lengthy Instagram caption Tuesday. The co-founder of The Home Edit shared that he was first diagnosed on March 8. I’m going to be having surgery next month for my double mastectomy,” adding that he’s “not sure what my treatment plan will turn out to be.”

“I woke up 9 hours after surgery to find the cancer had spread to my lymph nodes meaning chemo and radiation would be needed. While trying to process this information I had to come back 7 days later for surgery due to necrosis (my skin just wouldn’t take it) ..

But after my second surgery, I started to heal really well and got through it really well,” he explained.

Clea describes the next step in her journey. 6 weeks post-surgery, I started chemo – 8 weeks AC followed by 12 weeks Taxol. Kudos to the sunbeds, Top Chef, and Zofran. I finished chemo on September 8th, six weeks early, but my body stopped making white blood cells. And the long-term damage was not worth the extra treatment,” she said.

“I have never spent so much time with John and the kids. This is a moment in my life that I will cherish even though it was very difficult for all of us,” he said.
