Chris Martin believes Coldplay will fail to top their BTS collaboration

Cooperation with the K-pop idols was also described as “the most natural collaboration in the world” by the frontman.

Coldplay has a lot on their plate right now, but Chris Martin believes that nothing would ever equal their collaboration with BTS.

In a new consultation with Audacy on Wednesday, the band’s vocalist stated of “My Universe,” the band’s 2021 collaboration with the K-pop phenoms, “I don’t think we’ll ever be able to match the BTS surprise” (April 20). “Even we were taken aback by that.”

The Music of the Spheres single debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October, becoming the band’s second and sixth No. 1 singles.

“From the first time it was discussed I was like, ‘How could that ever work?’ to the song itself arriving and me thinking, ‘That could be for BTS,’ to now it feels like the most original partnership in the world,” Martin concluded.
