Chappell Roan Stuns Corona Capital in Fierce McQueen Design
Chappell Roan took the stage as the only pop headliner at Corona Capital 2025 in Mexico City on November 15, sharing the lineup with rock giants including Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, and Queens of the Stone Age. Despite initial nervousness about whether the rock-leaning crowd would connect with her pop music style, Roan delivered an electrifying performance that won over the audience.
Pre-Show Concerns: A Pop Star Among Rock Legends
Before her performance, Roan expressed anxiety about the festival’s rock-focused direction, writing on social media: “I was quite nervous for Mexico City because I wasn’t sure if the crowd would vibe with me”. The performer questioned whether fans of heavy guitar-driven music would embrace her theatrical pop sensibility. However, her worries proved unfounded as the crowd delivered a warm and supportive response, with Roan describing the audience as “so wonderful” and saying she felt “so loved and supported”.
Couture Stage Presence: McQueen’s Banshee Vision
The Custom Alexander McQueen Ensemble
Roan transformed into what she called a “screaming banshee” for the event, with fashion director Genesis Webb explaining that the costume drew inspiration from early-20th-century brassieres combined with 18th-century medical corsets and braces. This design strategy reflected “the push and pull of feminine softness and rage,” creating a visually striking statement piece. The custom McQueen creation perfectly embodied Roan’s signature theatrical approach to performance fashion.
Marking Tour Success
The Mexico City performance marked the final stop of her Visions of Damsels and Other Dangerous Things Tour, solidifying her status as a compelling live performer capable of winning over diverse audiences. Looking ahead, Roan plans to take a break from touring before resuming performances in Australia and New Zealand in February 2026.
