Britney Spears sings a new version of ‘Baby One More Time’ after not singing on ‘Extremely Long Time.’
Britney Spears sings her heart song.
The 40-year-old Grammy winner hummed his 41.8 million Instagram followers on Friday with a soulful performance of his 1998 debut single “…Britney Spears One More Time” in a dark mirror video in which he appears acoustically during a wash break.
“This is me yesterday washing and sorting clothes,” he wrote in the photo caption. “I haven’t shared a sound in a long time … maybe too long … and here I am at home playing a different version of ‘Baby.’ “
He also opened up his long-running campaign to release an updated version of the song, which was apparently thwarted as he had little control over his 13-year conservatory career.
“Well, I’ve been asking for what I want for 14 years…different versions of ‘Baby’ but the producers worked for me and created it…a start…but because TEAM said NO and served me with four girls, including my sister, did a 5-minute version of a four-song T remix with no effort or dancing at all…I just recorded it beautifully, and the sound is NEW!!! They ruined it for me, embarrassed me, also made me feel like nothing -what!!! The truth is f-b-!!!” Spears added.
Spears released the song in September 1998 as the lead single from her debut album of the same name.
The song was nominated for good Female Pop Vocal Performance at the Grammy Awards and topped the charts in at least 22 countries.
A source previously told the news that Spears has “talked a lot about her career” since the conservatory finished in November, adding that she “loves making music and wants to give her fans a new album. But, she seems focused on one thing at a time.”
