Anysphere’s Four Young Co-Founders Become Billionaires Under 30
Anysphere, an artificial intelligence coding startup, has officially made its four co-founders billionaires following a massive $2.3 billion Series D funding round announced Thursday. The funding values the company at $29.3 billion, making it one of the most valuable AI startups in the world. Michael Truell (CEO), Sualeh Asif (chief product officer), Arvind Lunnemark (former CTO), and Aman Sanger (COO) each hold approximately 4.5% stakes worth at least $1.3 billion each. Remarkably, all four founders are under 30 years old.
Cursor Dominates Enterprise AI Market
The co-founders’ wealth accumulation stems from Cursor, their flagship AI code editor that has become wildly popular among software developers. Cursor can generate new code based on user prompts through “vibe coding” and functions as spell-check for programming errors. The tool is used by millions of developers at enterprises like Nvidia, Adobe, and Uber. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang called Cursor his “favorite enterprise AI service,” while Google CEO Sundar Pichai revealed using it for webpage coding.
Rapid Scaling Achievement
Anysphere’s growth trajectory has been extraordinary. In January 2025, the startup became the fastest-growing company ever to reach $100 million in annual recurring revenue, achieving this milestone in just 14 months. Since then, the company’s valuation has grown nearly 12-fold, and annual recurring revenue now exceeds $1 billion. The funding round was co-led by Accel and Coatue, with substantial investments from tech giants Nvidia and Google. These MIT undergraduates who founded Anysphere in 2022 are part of a new wave of young billionaire entrepreneurs reshaping the AI landscape.
