Hugh Jackman and Julianne Hough hug puppies to encourage dog adoption

Hugh Jackman and Julianne say dogs are man’s best friend, but Bernadette Peters got a little help from her friends this weekend when the stars appeared supporting her 24th annual Bark on Broadway.

The dog adoption event was co-organized by Music Man star Sutton Foster. Who posed with the likes of Hugh Jackson at the New York gathering.

The couple seemed happy to meet and put a few dogs up for adoption, clearly fond of the little balls of fur. Jackman, currently starring in The Music Man with Foster, holds a few lucky winners and has a big smile.

The 53-year-old X-Men actor has two dogs of his own at home.

Billy Crystal, who starred in Mr. Saturday Night, posed with his tongue sticking out while holding an adorable little puppy. Peters founded the nonprofit in 1999 with the late Mary Tyler Moore during Peters’ Broadway show Annie Get Your Gun.

He adjust to get the support of the stage stars of all productions; Jane Lynch, currently starring in Funny Girl, was also there to show her love for the canine best friend. Lynch has expressed her love for the pets she rescues over the years, often talking about the prerogative of adopting a pet rather than buying one. Julianne Hough—whose Broadway debut came earlier this year on POTUS. Behind Every Great Idiot Seven Women Are Trying to Keep Him Alive—lost her two beloved dogs in 2019.

The actress and singer posed outside where Peters got into trouble earlier that day.
