Cameron Mathison says he works with a health coach after surgery to treat his cancer
“Cameron Mathison learned more about my specific health challenges and growth than I might have done decades ago. The actor said at news General Hospital on Friday of his ongoing health update.
Cameron Mathison is maintaining good health after suffering from cancer.
Speaking to NEWS at the 49th Annual Emmy Awards on Friday, the General Hospital actor revealed. That he received professional help from a health coach to learn more about his well-being after undergoing surgery to treat kidney cancer in 2019.
“I work with a health coach now I think I know a lot about what I’m doing right and wrong or whatever. But over the last year, I’d say maybe 14 months. I’ve learned a lot more about my specific health challenges, and I’m growing more than I might have had decades before,” said Mattison, 52. Who plays Drew Kane on the daily soap opera.
“Good,” he added of his recent health journey.
The Hallmark Channel host also told the news about how her health scare helped her gain a new perspective on life.
“The way he’s changed has increased my desire and desire. And effort and motivation to help others and spread the word and just be useful,” he explained. “I’ve received so much help on my journey; it doesn’t seem like everyone has it.”
“I was just trying to do what I could, and I made something. So it was put on hold,” he continued. “Also, there is more gratitude in my life here.”
The former All My Children star announced on September 10, 2019, that she had renal cell carcinoma or kidney cancer. A week later, he underwent a partial nephrectomy. A complex procedure in which doctors removed the tumor and removed only a small part of the kidney.
Two days after the September 18 surgery, Mathison told his Instagram followers he was fine.
“The tumor is gone, and I even have 80% of the kidney I need to save. Mathison posted on Instagram, along with a photo of him in a hospital bed surrounded by his two children, Leila, 15, and Lucas, 19. We’re all optimistic.”
