The Met Gala is Back: A Guide to Fashion’s Big Night

The yearly fundraiser for the Met’s Costume Institute is usually held on the first Monday of May.

It started as a midnight public dinner in 1948 and wasn’t even at the Met.

Fast forward 70 years and so, and the Met Gala is something else entirely, one of the most photograph events in the world due to the rolling red carpet although the famous carpeted staircase of the Metropolitan Museum of Art isn’t always red.
