Amazon Launches Bee Frontier and Eclipse AI Listening Devices

Amazon is doubling down on AI hardware with two new Bee devices that listen to conversations and turn them into summaries, reminders and to-do lists. The Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse are the first lineup refresh since Amazon acquired the San Francisco startup in July 2025.

Bee’s original $50 wristband used built-in microphones and AI to capture everyday exchanges, acting as a personal assistant that spares users from taking notes. The new releases build on that idea with a focus on privacy, encrypting transcripts so only the user can access them.

Bee Frontier: Smaller, Lighter and Pricier

The Frontier can be worn on the wrist or clipped to clothing, and its redesign is smaller and lighter. It is water-resistant, comes in lavender, sage and onyx, and lasts up to seven days per charge. Its dual microphones now have improved noise cancellation, meant to pick out important speech in busy places like restaurants or open offices. The price has risen to about $75 from $50, and the device went on sale Thursday.

Bee Eclipse Takes On Pocket and Plaud

The $100 Eclipse is a credit-card-sized recorder that attaches magnetically to the back of a smartphone. It runs the same transcription software and companion app as the Frontier and comes in silver, midnight, honey and blush. Amazon promises more than 21 days of battery life, though it has only said the device will arrive “soon.”

The Eclipse puts Amazon in direct competition with startups Pocket and Plaud. Pocket says it has sold over 200,000 devices and reached a $100 million annualized revenue run rate within eight months, with its device priced at $129. Plaud reports passing $100 million in annual recurring revenue and 2.5 million users across 170 countries, with its cheapest product at $159. Amazon’s lower price points give it an edge on cost.
