Fashion Sourcer Gab Waller Is Writing the Industry’s First Book on Sourcing

Fashion sourcing pioneer Gab Waller has announced she is working on the first-ever book dedicated to the fashion sourcing industry, as she reports record-breaking demand from clients across the globe. The Australian-born entrepreneur, who launched her sourcing business in 2018 after noticing stark differences between luxury stock in Los Angeles and back home, says the industry has transformed dramatically over the past eight years.

A Booming Business

Waller, who now leads a team of 12 sourcers operating worldwide, says her clients are shopping more than ever despite broader retail headwinds. Nearly 80% of requests arrive through Instagram DMs, with clients ranging from high-income buyers in their 30s to younger shoppers in their 20s purchasing their first luxury handbag. She notes that many avoid stores altogether due to long queues and frequent stock shortages, preferring the convenience and personalisation that sourcing offers.
