Kim Jones Departs Dior Men After Seven Transformative Years

After seven years of redefining luxury menswear, Kim Jones has officially departed his role as artistic director of Dior Men. The announcement follows his show-stopping fall 2025 collection, which many viewed as a culminating statement of his vision for modern male elegance. Jones also left his position at Fendi in October 2024, making him a free agent in the fashion world.

Jones joined Dior in 2018 after a successful eight-year tenure at Louis Vuitton Men, bringing with him an unmatched ability to blend heritage with contemporary culture. His impact was immediate and far-reaching, from renaming Dior Homme to the more globally accessible Dior Men to staging some of fashion’s most memorable runway spectacles.

Revolutionizing Menswear Through Couture

The designer’s greatest achievement was bringing genuine couture sensibility to menswear. He masterfully translated Monsieur Dior’s archive into masculine forms, creating embroidered capes, taffeta swing coats, and his iconic satin sashes draped into jacket lapels. His fall 2024 collection featured a vest based on the embroidery from Christian Dior’s 1950 “Debussy” gown, demonstrating his scholarly approach to the house’s heritage.

The Collaboration Pioneer

Jones cemented his status as fashion’s collaboration king at Dior, building on his groundbreaking 2017 Supreme x Louis Vuitton partnership. He brought together artists like Hajime Sorayama, Kaws, and Amoako Boafo with cultural figures including Travis Scott and Shawn Stussy, creating viral moments that defined modern luxury fashion.

Last week, Jones received France’s highest civilian honor, the Légion d’Honneur, recognizing his contribution to French fashion. His next chapter remains unwritten, but his influence on menswear is indelible.
