Martha Stewart’s AI Startup Hint Raises $10M to Predict Home Repairs

Martha Stewart has stepped into the artificial intelligence space with Hint, a home management startup that secured $10 million in seed funding led by Slow Ventures. The platform, set to launch on desktop and iOS this summer, aims to help homeowners stay ahead of costly repairs rather than scramble to fix them after the fact.

A $500 Billion Problem Worth Solving

Americans spend over $500 billion annually on residential renovations and repairs, according to a 2025 Harvard housing study. Most existing platforms connect homeowners with contractors only after damage is done. Hint takes a different approach, pulling public property data alongside user-uploaded documents like warranties and insurance policies to build a proactive maintenance timeline for each home. The goal is simple: alert you before your water heater fails or your insurance policy quietly expires.

From Easter Brunch to Seed Round

The idea was born at an Easter brunch on Stewart’s farm, where she met neighbor and AI engineer Kyle Rush. He described software capable of identifying household issues before homeowners even noticed them. Stewart reportedly said this was something she had envisioned for years, but the technology simply wasn’t ready until now. Her personal touch is already visible on the product — the logo’s signature shade of green mirrors the color of eggs from her own farm.

With a massive addressable market and a celebrity co-founder whose brand is synonymous with homemaking, Hint is positioning itself as the preventive care app for your house — and investors are clearly paying attention.
