Dua Lipa and actor Callum Turner launched their three-day Italian wedding celebrations in Palermo, Sicily, with a glamorous welcome dinner that drew as much attention for the bride’s jewellery as it did for the controversy surrounding the city shutdown.
The singer arrived in a custom backless Bottega Veneta halter neck gown featuring the house’s signature intrecciato weave and a mermaid-style skirt adorned with white ostrich feathers. Completing the look was a striking selection of Bvlgari jewels, including the iconic Serpenti necklace and two statement timepieces.
A Watch Rooted in History
The centrepiece of her wrist was the Bvlgari Tubogas Manchette, a cuff watch inspired by an archival 1974 model and referencing the brand’s 1948 Tubogas design. Named after the coiled metal links of gas pipes, the bracelet wraps around the wrist via tapering yellow gold links, each individually moulded and polished before assembly on a flexible titanium blade. Its 16mm yellow gold case houses an automatic Lady Solotempo BVS 100 calibre, delivering a 50-hour power reserve in just 5 grams. The watch retails at approximately Rs 2.12 crore.
A Necklace Made With Love
Equally noteworthy was the bespoke Serpenti necklace crafted personally for Dua Lipa by Bvlgari’s Creative Director Lucia Silvestri — not a loan, but a one-of-a-kind creation inscribed with the sentiment: “For Dua, with love.” The Pallini bracelet watch, featuring yellow-gold beads, diamonds, and emerald eyes, rounded off the jewellery ensemble.
Together, the pieces marked a breathtaking fusion of couture fashion and fine watchmaking on one of music’s biggest stages.
