Bollywood Stars Revive Retro Glamour in This Week’s Best Looks

This week’s celebrity style roundup leaned heavily into nostalgia, with stars reinterpreting decades-old trends through a modern lens. Polka dots made a strong comeback, old Hollywood glamour resurfaced on the red carpet, and vintage designer pieces were given fresh context through contemporary pairings.

Polka Dots Take Centre Stage

Ananya Panday championed the print in Mumbai, wearing a draped organza top with ruffle detailing alongside a pleated black mini skirt, finished with vintage-inspired jewellery. Meanwhile, at the Cannes Lions festival in France, Priyanka Chopra Jonas opted for a sheer chiffon halterneck dress featuring a reversed polka dot motif, cinched at the waist with an oversized floral belt.

Elsewhere, Sara Ali Khan brought ’60s-inspired elegance to the Royal Ascot in an off-shoulder midi dress with a dramatic bow and train, while Krithi Shetty embraced a ’90s aesthetic in a rust-hued embroidered lehenga with a halterneck blouse.

Vintage Pieces Get a Modern Twist

Natasha Poonawalla stood out by pairing an archival structured jacket, originally from a late-1980s Yves Saint Laurent collection, with a handwoven Banarasi sari featuring silver zari work — a striking fusion of Western vintage and Indian craftsmanship.

Other notable appearances included Mira Kapoor in an asymmetric striped dress with lace accents, Kriti Sanon in a sculpted corset-style gown with a thigh-high slit, and Banita Sandhu, who marked her birthday in a patchwork top paired with raw-edge denim and a statement designer bag.

Together, these looks highlight a broader shift toward blending eras — vintage silhouettes and fabrics reworked with contemporary styling for a fresh, wearable take on nostalgia.
