Italian designer Brunello Cucinelli marked his birthday this week by officially opening his new Paris flagship, combining the celebration with a screening of his autobiographical documentary, a brunch, a cocktail party and a black-tie dinner.
A Seven-Floor Home on Rue Saint-Honoré
The new address at 277 Rue Saint-Honoré spans roughly 30,000 square feet across seven floors, including three levels of retail, staff facilities, an alterations atelier, and dedicated fitting and bespoke consultation spaces. A private apartment on the top floor, still under construction, will eventually host press, clients and business partners. Cucinelli described the guiding philosophy behind the space as one of warmth and hospitality, saying every visitor, regardless of spending, should feel treated with the same kindness. The store design blends French architectural details with Italian materials such as travertine marble, alongside vintage furnishings and artwork throughout.
A Documentary Journey Tied to the Celebration
The opening coincided with continued rollout of “Brunello: The Gracious Visionary,” a film directed by Giuseppe Tornatore that blends fiction and documentary to explore Cucinelli’s life and his transformation of the Umbrian village of Solomeo. Since premiering in Rome last December, the film has screened in New York and been released in North American and Italian theaters, with upcoming premieres planned in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
The Paris store, which has quietly operated since last December, replaces a smaller boutique that closed in March and adds to Cucinelli’s existing presence on the Left Bank and Avenue Montaigne. Publicly traded since 2012, the company reported revenues of 1.43 billion euros last year, with Cucinelli continuing to champion Made in Italy craftsmanship rooted in his home region’s knitwear traditions.
