“The Travis Scott incident at the Rolling Loud Festival in 2019 is very similar to the tragedy at Astroworld in November 2021,” Love’s attorney said in a statement to PEOPLE. “We hope that this and similar processes will prevent future incidents such as those at Rolling Loud and Astroworld.
In November, Scott, 30, was on stage at Houston’s Astroworld Festival. When a mob erupted and killed ten concert-goers, including a 9-year-old boy.
Love’s complaint describes an incident the day before Rolling Loud was launch. Which result in “many crashes” and “panic” after an active shooter was misreport.
The complaint alleges that Scott should have been aware of the collision during his appearance. And asked to avoid any means that would trigger further violence or panic in the crowd. The “Sicko Mode” rapper kicks off his set at around 11 p.m., but it is alleged that police order him to stop gambling shortly. After as the crowd became “dangerous and out of control.”
“Despite being order by the authorities to end continued mob incitement. Travis Scott continues to verbally and physically incite the mob to engage in mosquito pits and other harmful activities,” the complaint reads.
A spokesman for Scott told news that the complaint was “another clear and cynical attempt to attack Travis. In this case, a three-year incident that was intentionally misrepresente.”
“As per the complaint, this incident relates to reports of a false shoot in the middle of the show. That has nothing to do with Travis’ performance. The video shows that the police inform Travis that the show was cancel because of this – due to a hoax – and he fully cooperated,” the statement said.
