“We talked about turning Jennifer Flavin into [Wonder Woman],” tattoo artist Mike DeVries told news about the ink Sylvester Stallone recently covered up.
Sylvester Stallone talked about changing Jennifer Flavin’s tattoo long before she filed for divorce last month, according to the man who gave Stallone the Flavin-faced tattoo years ago.
Speaking to news , Mike DeVries recalls writing Stallone in 2007 – which recently covered body art in honor of his late dog and star Rocky Butkus. A few days later, the couple announced their separation.
“I already knew she wanted to do something because she emailed me last year, called me, and we talked about doing Jennifer Flavin [Wonder Woman],” DeVries said.
He points out that Wonder Woman wears a yellow tiara on her head, which won’t “work” on the darker sections of Flavin’s hair on his shoulder tattoo.
“Her hair is just shiny,” she said, adding that she didn’t change the tattoo in the end. The tattoo artist says he’s given Stallone a few more since told news that the actor is “one of that guys who knows what he wants.”
Recalling the time he drew Flavin, DeVries said Stallone made it clear he wanted a tattoo on his face, but he also asked for specific details.
“He wanted the colors to be brighter. “Brighter, brighter. We need to make those colors lighter,” says DeVries. He continues: “We decide on a specific image. And when you choose an image, you usually don’t want to stray too far from it… So I remember I’m done, I’m doing the hair. Now I’m starting to work on the face. And I’m starting to work my way. I’m getting the chin, and I’m working on the lips, and I’m finishing the lips pretty well.”
Then DeVries said Stallone was a little more specific. “He’s like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute. [I want] you to do lips like that.” And he did a different magazine cover. And he said, “Do it like this.”
DeVries said he perfected the image until Stallone was “satisfy.”
