Live music festival powerhouse Breakaway has welcomed cultural architect Shaun Neff and entertainment pioneer Nick Gross to its ownership group, marking a significant expansion following the company’s most successful season to date. The announcement comes after Breakaway hosted festivals in 12 cities nationwide with record-breaking attendance numbers in 2025.
CEO and Co-Founder Adam Lynn described the partnership as “pouring gasoline on the fire” of the company’s growth trajectory. Breakaway Carolina stood out as the largest festival in the company’s history, demonstrating the brand’s ability to scale while maintaining authentic fan experiences.
Strategic Brand-Building Expertise
Neff brings extensive entrepreneurial credentials to the table, including co-founding BEEUP with David Beckham and successful exits from SunBum and Neff Headwear. As co-owner of MLS team LAFC and the XGames, he understands large-scale event management. His brand incubator, Beach House Group, has backed celebrity ventures including Moon Oral Beauty with Kendall Jenner.
“A company wins when it can clearly tell a unique and exciting story,” Neff explained, praising Breakaway’s festival product and expressing excitement about contributing his brand-building expertise.
Music Industry Perspective
Gross, founder of Gross Labs and a professional drummer, brings authentic music industry insight to the ownership team. His portfolio spans the record label Big Noise, educational platform Find Your Grind, and diverse entertainment investments.
“Artists want to be surrounded by authentic people and experiences,” Gross noted, emphasizing Breakaway’s commitment to respecting performers and expanding their audiences. Both entrepreneurs cited the company’s chemistry, vision, and potential in the booming live entertainment space as key factors in their decision to join.
