PnB Rock was shot dead Monday in a raid on a popular Los Angeles restaurant.
Days before he was killed in a Los Angeles restaurant robbery. PnB Rock opened up about the rapper’s heist in the city.
On Monday, PnB Rock – real name Rakim Hasheem Allen was gunned down during lunch with girlfriend Stephanie Sibunhewang at Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘N Waffles. He is 30 years old. The couple has a 2-year-old daughter, Xuri.
In one of his final interviews, recorded about a week before his death. PnB Rock spoke to DJ Akademik about the rapper getting robbed in Los Angeles.
“It’s widespread,” he said, adding, “I’ve never been robbed. Never in my life.” He continued, “I wouldn’t say never. I wouldn’t say I like saying never. I’m not superstitious, but I wasn’t robbed.”
When DJ Akademiks noted that the rapper was seen as a “target”, PnB Rock shared that he had “moved differently” since his “eldest brother was killed. I’ve seen people die, I’ve been around people who have died, but when it hits your bed, you know it’s real life. Anyone can die. It could be anyone. You wish you might die.”
When asked if it made him “nervous,” PnB Rock said it made him “on alert.”
During Monday’s incident, a suspect approached rapper “Fleek” and demanded that he hand over jewellery and other items. The rapper died shortly after that and the suspect fled in a car.
On Tuesday, Los Angeles Police Commissioner Michelle Moore said an Instagram post may have alerted attackers to the rapper’s whereabouts, according to the Los Angeles Times.
PnB Rock “was with his family — his girlfriend or a friend — and while they were there enjoying a simple meal, [he] was brutally assaulted by someone who appeared to have [came] to the scene after posting it on social media,” Moore said, according to The Times.
