Nick Cannon says ex-wife Mariah Carey will ‘always be my baby!’
During Tuesday’s Hottie Talk Show podcast, the 41-year-old comedian revealed he’s still keeping the door open for the 53-year-old “We Belong Together” singer in the hope that one day they can rekindle their romance.
“I guess because I’m a true romantic, I believe in love and left the love capsule where it was. I’m not a timeline guy,” he told host Tee. “I will never have the love I had with Mariah.”
“It was like a fairy tale with Mariah, so I’d prefer it if it were just that. I respect that fantasy because if I tried to come back and it wasn’t the same, I’d be like, ‘Damn. I screwed up,'” she continued, adding, ” but if I have the chance, if it can be. So be it, I’m here.” Cannon was previously married to Carey from 2008 to 2016. Together they share 11-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan.
The two sides have since continued their dating life. Last June, Cannon welcomed Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Hair twins with Abby De La Rosa. The following month, the comedian gave birth to son Zen with Alyssa Scott. Who died December 5 after being diagnosed with brain cancer. “The guy is great with my kids, and we have family reunions and stuff like that together. So I have a lot of respect for him,” she said. “But come on, it’s my imagination. This is someone I will always love.”
Last month, while appearing on the Shelley Wade podcast, Cannon revealed.
That he hasn’t completely given up on the idea of monogamy—even though he doesn’t have the best track record of past relationships.
When asked what the “decisive factor” in tying the knot was, Cannon replied, “I think growing up, I might have had some midlife crises. I like the men I grew up with and feel like someone who can understand and support me. “
