Fashion and Design Converge at Paris Fashion Week’s Matter and Shape

The lines between fashion and design are blurring faster than ever. At the March 2026 Paris Fashion Week, the Matter and Shape trade show — organised by WSN in the Jardin des Tuileries — doubled overall attendance at the Tuileries site, drawing around 13,000 visitors and proving that the appetite for cross-disciplinary creativity is no longer niche.

Now in its third edition, the show grew from 30 exhibitors at its 2024 launch to 73 this year. Between 20 and 30 percent of attendees also visited the adjacent Premiere Classe fashion trade show, underlining the natural porosity between both audiences.

From Runways to Living Rooms

Fashion names are increasingly staking their claim in domestic spaces. Belgian tableware brand Serax, a collaborator of Ann Demeulemeester, brought considered craftsmanship to the floor. Marimekko extended its signature textile patterns into furnishing fabrics, while jewellery label Shihara presented custom boutique furniture. Lemaire offered an object curation through gallery platform Ark Kollekt, framing everyday items as extensions of its quiet, considered aesthetic.

Culture Crosses the Threshold

The show also reached beyond fashion and homeware. Director Luca Guadagnino collaborated with Austrian luxury glassware house Lobmeyr to design mirrors and carpets, signalling that creative industries at large are finding common ground in the object.

For brands, design is fast becoming a tool to deepen identity and expand lifestyle appeal. Matter and Shape isn’t just a trade show — it’s a sign of where fashion is heading.
