“I don’t know if I’m mature enough now, but I’m definitely closer to getting over it,” said Louis Tomlinson of his split from Zayn Malik.
Louis Tomlinson recently opened up about former One Direction bandmate Zayn Malik’s cover after he was asked about their relationship status.
On Wednesday’s episode of The Zac Sang Show. Tomlinson was asked if he is still friends with Malik, who left the group in 2015. (After Malik left 1D, he and Tomlinson got into a heated argument on Twitter.)
“You should ask him,” he told host Zach Sang.
“I could be wrong, but I thought I said it when you asked a similar question [last time] … I think I said I don’t think I’m mature enough to forget what I love.” this relationship,” he said.
Tomlinson added, “I don’t know if I’m mature enough now. But I’m closer to getting over it.” ‘ Tomlinson said, adding that he was ‘trying to contact Malik’.
“But it’s hard,” he said. “I definitely wish him the best.”
Sang then pointed out that Malik recently shared a One Direction cover that Tomlinson likes on social media.
“You did your research,” Tomlinson joked.
He further praised Malik as “a different caliber as a singer, I would put it that way”. Tomlinson added, “I didn’t like him just because he liked it. It was a nice feeling because he said what he’s said about the band in the past and I understand some of what he’s saying. For me, you can see in this video that he is thinking. It shows that he’s thinking about those moments. Of course, he’s showing off his amazing voice at the same time.”
