The two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment in Washington’s West End Kamala Harris has been on the market for about six months. Harris and Emhoff initially listed the 1,730-square-foot home for $1.955 million in April. However, according to the real estate website Zillow, they cut their asking price to $1.85 million in July.
The deal appears be part of a larger liquidation strategy from Harris and Emhof.
In March, the vice president sold the apartment he had owned for decades in San Francisco for $860,000. Just nine days after the start from the sale, a contract was signed that was well above the $799,000 bid price. Harris bought the apartment in 1998 for $299,000.
The second couple still owns some beautiful homes, including one that the government well supports. In Washington, they live at the US Naval Observatory, the traditional home of the Vice President. The couple moved there in April after the property was renovated. They also own a 3,500-square-foot home in Los Angeles, which the county estimates are worth $3.2 million.
