Jane Fonda ‘not proud’ of a facelift: ‘I quit because I didn’t want to look wonky.’
“Well, I don’t know if I should do it again if I wanted to. But I did. I admit it, and then I just said, you can get addicted. So don’t keep doing it,” Jane Fonda told Vogue that she was going for a facelift.
Jane Fonda contemplates the plastic surgery she received.
The legendary actress, 84, spoke to Vogue about her H&M Move campaign in a feature published Tuesday and expressed her thoughts on aging.
“I’m almost 85, but I don’t look that old,” said the Oscar winner. “To make young people stop being afraid of old age, to help people realize that just because you have reached a confident age, you don’t have to give up on life, you have to give up fun; you have to give up, have a boyfriend or girlfriend, make new friends or whatever you want to do.”
The Grace & Frankie actress admits she doesn’t hesitate to reveal her age when asked, but she also replies, “Yes, Fonda. You have money. You can afford sneakers. You can afford cosmetic surgery. You can. You can buy things.
That helps you look young. It’s true. Money helps. Good genes and lots of money, as someone said.”
She talked about her history with plastic surgery: “But saying that, I think we all know a lot of rich women who have done all kinds of facelifts and things like that, and they look terrible. I did a facelift and quit because I didn’t want to. Looks distorted. I’m not proud that I have [one].”
“Now, I don’t know if I should do it again. But I did. I admitted it and then just said, you can get addicted. Don’t keep going. Many women, I don’t know, are addicted to it.”
She adds: “Even though I don’t do a lot of facials, I don’t spend a lot of money on face creams or anything like that, I stay hydrated, I sleep, I move, I avoid the sun, and I have good friends who make me laugh. Bring. Laughter is good too.”
