Influencer Meredith Staggers says her migraine was a life-threatening brain aneurysm
The Influencer Meredith 35-year-old founder of Cake & Confetti tells news his survival story in hopes of raising awareness of the dangers of brain aneurysms.
Influencer Meredith Staggers was driving around Houston, Texas. For errands on August 4 when she developed a nagging headache and was forced to pull over on the side of a busy road.
The 35-year-old Cake & Confetti founder suffered from migraines during her pregnancy before her third child was born in June.
Still, the pain level at the time was unlike anything she had ever experienced and was reminiscent of stroke-like symptoms.
“I started seeing auras in my left eye and slowly started to lose my vision. My face went numb and then I lost feeling in my hands and feet,” she told news. “I tried to call my husband but I couldn’t press the button on the phone. I’m like not registered in my brain. I finally managed to get in touch with him but 10 or 15 minutes later I lost the ability to speak clearly.”
Staggers’ husband rushed over to her and rushed her to the emergency room. “When I checked myself into the ER and it was prioritized, they asked my husband, ‘Is there a chance he’s using drugs?’ That’s how isolated I am,” he added.
Doctors performed a CT scan of the head and a chest X-ray, which eventually returned to normal. Your next option: sit in the understaffed waiting area to see. After nearly nine hours, Staggers decided to go home, treating the episode as a migraine, which has now subsided. However, Staggers suffered from migraines for six days straight.
And less than a week after the emergency room visit, the mother-of-three was with her daughter at a gynaecological appointment when she had another severe episode. Staggers said he quickly lost sight and could not hold his child or communicate with doctors. But again he believes he is suffering from another migraine.
