Two Founders Are Betting Big on Warm Introductions

Jake Fleshner and Michael Axman built The Nucleus Network around a simple observation: founders rarely fail because their product is weak, but because they can’t reach the right people. Fleshner’s background includes entrepreneurship experience at the University of Michigan and time working alongside Gary Vaynerchuk, while Axman got his start as an early growth hire at a music, travel, and entertainment company that raised hundreds of millions before he left to start his own consulting agency. Together, the pair has facilitated over 10,000 warm introductions built on double opt-in trust rather than mass outreach.

Three Pillars Built Around Trust

The company runs on three connected arms. Advisory operates as a retainer service, giving venture-backed founders curated introductions to customers, partners, and talent instead of cold email campaigns. Ventures is a deal-by-deal investment syndicate backed by more than 400 limited partners, having deployed $54 million across 29 companies, including brands like Othership and Hot Girl Pickles. Community rounds out the model with more than 100 invite-only events held in cities including New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and San Francisco, featuring partners such as Morgan Stanley and DraftKings.

A Response to Outreach Fatigue

Fleshner and Axman say their approach directly counters an industry drowning in automated, low-quality outreach. By keeping every introduction intentional and double opt-in, they aim to protect long-term credibility rather than chase volume. Looking ahead, the founders plan to expand Advisory, grow their venture portfolio beyond its current scale, and build technology to make sourcing and tracking warm introductions more efficient — with the goal of making trust-based networking the industry standard rather than the exception.
