More than a decade after playing the role of a member of Mystery Inc. Screen, Hayley Kiyoko puts her Velma glasses back on while her friend Becca Tilley dresses up as Scooby Doo’s Daphne in the cutest couple costumes for Halloween.
“Jinki!! I lost my glasses, I found my girl,” wrote Kiyoko, 31, on Instagram with a photo of himself and the graduate, 33, posing and kissing while playing a detective cartoon. She also shared a photo of herself flipping through her Instagram Story and writing, “He’s back.”
“Unexpected plot twist,” Tilly captioned her post with photos from her Halloween event.
Kiyoko played the role of Velma in the 2009 live-action film Scooby-Doo! The mystery begins before you return to being a character in Scooby-Doo! The Curse of the Sea Monster (2010).
Kiyoko celebrated the News on Twitter as she recalled her role: “I remember booking Velma in 2008. It was my first big film role.” “I also remember thinking, ‘I wonder if they know they’re playing a lesbian like Velma.’ here we are 14 years later. I love you so much,” added Kiyoko.
The ‘Girls Like Girls’ hitmaker first met Tilly at her debut release party, Expectations, in 2018, and the two made their relationship official on Instagram in May. Tilley spoke to News about the love and support she receives from fans: “It feels so good,” she said in June.
“I mean, we live completely normal lives. It’s just not on social media. We live very openly. And we were together for four years, but now it’s on social media. And now we can share it with the world,” continued Tilley. “It was wonderful – we have so much love and support.”
