Fat Joe talks about his journey as a father of four.
Host Ana Navarro, who appeared on The View on Tuesday to promote her newly released memoir The Book of Jose, celebrated that Fat Joe had done “most of it beautiful family.”
“You live for him,” he said, listing Joe’s wife Lorena, daughter Azaria, 16 “whom you twine your pinky with,” Navarro joked also sons Ryan, 26, and Joey, 32.
Talking about his son Joey living with autism, the rapper spoke about including his son’s story in his memoir.
“My whole book is a book of transparency,” he said. “It’s about failure, it’s about winning. It’s about getting through the dark times also knowing that you can smile in the end. He explained that he was “so proud” of Joey and praised him as the “donna of the family.”
“He inspired me. He was a blessing in our lives, he was almost an angel,” said the rapper.
“It’s a gift little Joey keeps on giving and I’m so proud of him.”
Fat Joe, who raised Joey as a single father from the age of 19 with the help of his parents until his marriage. As a single father, reflected on his fatherly journey while celebrating Joey’s birthday last December.
How do you say thank you to your best friend and most loyal friend?. I am so proud of Joey, he is my heart and soul,” the rapper shared with All The Way Up. “I love you Joey, we all love you Joey, thank you for being the greatest blessing in my life!” Happy Birthday Joey God bless you,” she wrote.
The rapper, who appeared on A&E’s Origins of Hip Hop earlier this year, opened up about his wife Lorena, whom he married in 1995.
“We took an oath,” said the singer. “We said to ourselves, ‘No matter what happens to us, we will always be together. ‘” We live by that rule. We want to show our people that you can be a family man. You can be with your wife and still be successful and set a great example for people.”
