Logistics giant Ecom Express has brought on board Pankaj Singh, the former founder of proptech venture Multiliving Technologies, to serve as its Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).
In his new role, Singh will lead the company’s end-to-end procurement, overseeing sourcing, spend management, and strategic cost control within the supply chain. This strategic appointment is expected to enhance Ecom Express’s capabilities in driving cost efficiency and optimizing its supply chain processes.
Pankaj Singh’s Background and Expertise
Prior to joining Ecom Express, Pankaj Singh was associated with Multiliving Technologies, a proptech startup. His experience includes working as the Chief Growth Officer at The House of Abhinandan Lodha. Singh’s extensive background in running startups and his focus on cost efficiency are anticipated to contribute significantly to Ecom Express’s overall strategy and operations.
Ecom Express’s Position in the Logistics Sector
Founded in 2012, Ecom Express has become a key player in the logistics sector, offering end-to-end solutions that encompass first-mile pickup, processing, and last-mile delivery. The company has expanded its operations to more than 3,000 delivery centers, covering 9.6 million square feet of space. With services available in over 27,000 pin codes and 2,700 cities and towns across India, Ecom Express competes with other logistics providers such as Delhivery, Shiprocket, and Xpressbees.
Recent Developments and Leadership Changes
In October of the previous year, Ecom Express faced a setback with the passing of co-founder and former CEO, TA Krishnan, after a prolonged illness. The company has been exploring the possibility of an initial public offering (IPO), although market conditions have delayed its plans. With the recent appointment of Ajay Chitkara as the new Managing Director and CEO, and now the addition of Pankaj Singh as CCO, Ecom Express aims to strengthen its leadership team and navigate the evolving landscape of the logistics industry.
