Andy Taylor’s cancer diagnosis comes to light as Duran Duran is honored at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

During the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Los Angeles on Saturday night. Taylor’s colleagues announced that the 61-year-old musician had been battling a health condition associated with stage four metastatic prostate cancer.

Realizing that Taylor was experiencing setbacks due to health problems that prevented him from traveling to California from Ibiza, Spain. The band honored Taylor during the music ceremony by reading out part of the acceptance speech he had written.

“More than four years ago I was diagnose with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer. Many families have witnessed the slow burn of the disease and of course we are no different; So I speak from a family man’s point of view, but with deep humility for the band. The biggest fans the band has, and this incredible acknowledgment,” Taylor wrote.

“I’m really sorry and very disappointed that I couldn’t make it. No doubt I was surprise by everything, I even bought a new guitar with a main kick!” he added.

After the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inauguration ceremony, Taylor uploaded his entire speech to Duran Duran’s official website.

“I have Rogers and Edwards for doctors and medical care, which until recently allowed me to rock,” she wrote. “Although my current condition is not directly life-threatening, there is no cure.”

“I’ve been doing well lately after undergoing very complicate life extension treatment until I suffer a setback about a week ago, and despite the incredible efforts of my team, I have to be honest. Both physically and mentally, I’m going to push on. my limit. ,” continued Taylor leaving.

He added: “However, none of this should or should detract from what this group has achieved and maintained (with or without me) over the past 44 years. We have had a privileged life, we were a little naughty but very kind. A little shirtless but very well dressed. good, a little bit of ourselves because we have a lot to give. But as I’ve said time and time again, when you feel a collective, instinctive and kindred spirit of creativity mixed with ambition, armed with big fans, what’s wrong? “
