A Costly Run Since 2022
Since February 2022, Drake has placed 88 sports bets totaling $40.2 million, but he’s only won about 35.7% of them. Data cited by The Press Association and Bloomberg shows the losses have piled up especially fast since April 2024, a stretch that coincides with the public feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. According to TheDrakeCurse.com, the rapper has lost roughly $7.2 million on bets placed since Lamar’s diss track “Euphoria” dropped that April, fueling online jokes that the beef somehow cursed his luck at the sportsbook.
The World Cup Loss
The 2026 World Cup delivered the latest blow. Drake reportedly wagered $1.5 million on Argentina to beat Spain in normal or extra time, but Argentina fell 1-0, wiping out the bet entirely. It’s the kind of high-stakes loss that has become a running theme for the artist, whose bad beats regularly go viral.
Not every bet has gone sideways, though. Drake has placed three wagers on cricket over the years and won all three, pocketing just under $1 million combined — a rare bright spot in an otherwise rough betting ledger.
