David Beckham, the 49-year-old soccer icon, has added new ink to his already extensive tattoo collection. Recently, Beckham shared with his Instagram followers that he got a fresh tattoo, courtesy of his go-to London-based artist, Certified Letter Boy.

The new design, located on the side of his leg just below the knee, depicts two hands pressed together in a prayer position.

On his Instagram Stories, Beckham posted a photo of the artist at work, along with the caption, “Thanks mate x.”

In another image, he shared a detailed close-up of the tattoo, which showcases intricate features such as knuckle lines, nails, and shadow effects. Beckham tagged the artist and expressed his gratitude with a white heart emoji.

Certified Letter Boy also shared the new design on his Instagram, writing, “Praying hands tattoo for the main man. Thank you for the trust, DB 🫶🏻.”

Approaching 100 Tattoos

Beckham’s latest tattoo brings him closer to the impressive milestone of 100 tattoos. According to Fisher Stevens, director of the recent Netflix docuseries Beckham, the former athlete was already nearing that number during filming.

Stevens recalled a conversation where Beckham mentioned he had 88 tattoos at the time. However, as filming progressed, they discovered Beckham had accumulated at least six more.

When Stevens asked the footballer about the reasoning behind his large collection of tattoos, David simply replied, “I just like them.” Stevens added, with a bit of humor, that he wondered if Beckham’s tattoo obsession was a form of self-torture, though the model didn’t agree.

As Beckham continues to add to his body art, his passion for tattoos remains a defining aspect of his ever-evolving personal style.
