BTS joins the army.
Long feared by their fans, group officials confirmed Monday that the seven members of the K-pop supergroup would be completing their mandatory military service.
South Korean law requires all non-disabled men to serve in the military between 18 and 21 months before their 30th birthday.

The announcement comes amid the band’s free concert in support of South Korea’s World Expo bid on Saturday. As BTS reunited to perform in front of 12,000 people in the city of Busan.

According to the announcement, the group’s oldest member, Jin, will be the first in October, just before he turns 30 in December.
“He will then follow the Korean government’s appointment process,” the publication continued.
“Other members of the group plan to move out their military service according to their individual plans,” the statement added. “Both the company and BTS members hope to reunite as a group sometime in 2025.
