Texas-based artificial intelligence company Lineage has introduced Bishop, a new AI offering aimed at helping families, small business owners, and local organizations rather than large institutions. According to CEO Eric Beach, the company was built around the idea that AI should serve people, not replace, manage, or push them aside, positioning Bishop as a tool for everyday operators like contractors, coaches, and entrepreneurs.
A Different Approach to AI Assistance
Unlike typical AI tools that stop at generating answers, Bishop is designed to complete tasks end-to-end — handling emails, scheduling, research, planning, and errands from start to finish. Beach describes the distinction as the difference between simply answering questions and fully executing a job, comparing it to having a staff rather than just a search tool. The company operates on a membership model rather than one built on advertising or data collection, with Beach emphasizing that user trust and alignment are central to how Bishop is designed.
Dr. Ron Paul Joins as Advisor
Adding to the company’s philosophical direction, former Congressman Dr. Ron Paul has joined Lineage’s advisory team. Beach notes that Paul’s longstanding concerns about concentrated power in government and institutions translate naturally to questions about who controls AI technology and who benefits from it. Beach, drawing on his background as a political strategist, says this experience shaped his view that technology inevitably either centralizes power or distributes it — and that Bishop is intended to help everyday people “stand taller” rather than be sidelined by automation.
