This week, Elon Musk’s Twitter was sue in California for allegedly failing to pay a subcontractor.
Since Elon Musk’s Twitter took over about four months ago, Writer, Inc., a software startup, has filed the most recent complaint against Twitter in the United States. This makes it at least the sixth business to do so.
The $44 billion acquisition of Twitter by the Leader of Tesla and SpaceX was complete around October 27, 2022. To become the single director, new owner, and CEO at Twitter. He sold billions of dollars worth of Tesla shares and took on about $13 billion in debt.
Since then, the Writer and at least five other people have filed a lawsuit against Musk’s social media company for non-payment:
- Columbia REIT is its owner in San Francisco.
- Private Jet Services Group is a private aviation service supplier.
- Blueprint Studios Trends is a business that plans and produces events.
- Before Musk acquired Twitter, the company’s counsel received litigation-related consulting services from the M&A consulting business Innisfree M&A And Analysis Group.
These lawsuits are being follow as they develop by PlainSite, a legal and public documents database.
According to Fortune, Columbia REIT has defaulted on loans for buildings. Including the one where Elon Musk rents office space at 650 California Street in San Francisco due to Twitter’s claimed failure to pay rent.
Additionally, it is claim that Twitter needs to catch up on paying out to bigger businesses. After failing to pay a bill, Twitter abruptly terminated its workers’ access to Slack this week. Salesforce owns Slack, a platform for team communication and cooperation at work.
In the most recent complaint, Writer claims that Twitter neglected to pay a bill for the relatively small sum of $113,856. The lawsuit was submit to California Superior Court in San Francisco.
