Alo has announced the appointment of Benedetta Petruzzo as chief executive of its international operations, marking a significant leadership move for the Los Angeles-based activewear brand. Petruzzo brings extensive luxury experience from her previous role as managing director at Dior, reinforcing Alo’s strategic shift toward premium positioning in the global market.
Petruzzo’s Impressive Luxury Background
In her new position, Petruzzo will oversee Alo’s global operations with responsibility for client experience, market strategy, brand identity, and the wellness category. Her appointment reflects the brand’s commitment to strengthening its luxury credentials. The executive joins Alo from Dior, where she held the managing director role, and previously served as CEO of Miu Miu under Prada’s ownership. Her career also includes five years in various leadership positions at Kering Eyewear and five years at consulting firm Bain & Co., providing her with comprehensive experience across luxury retail and strategic operations.
Strategic Growth and Market Expansion
Petruzzo’s hiring aligns perfectly with Alo’s ambitious expansion plans. The brand revealed last year its intention to open a flagship store on Paris’s iconic Champs Élysées in 2026, taking over a former Zara location. This move signals Alo’s determination to establish itself as a serious luxury player alongside established fashion houses. Currently, Alo operates across 128 markets globally with over 100 stores in 26 countries. Founded in 2007 by Harris and Marco DeGeorge, who remain as co-owners and co-CEOs, the brand continues its upward trajectory in the competitive activewear market.
