“Believe me what I’m like…!!!!!!!!” Alicia Keys commented on the video where an overzealous fan grabbed her face and kissed her on the cheek during the show
Alicia Keys has some pretty passionate fans.
During a Monday’s show at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, the 41-year-old Grammy winner walked past the audience so close that the audience could grab his face and caress his cheek.
Hollywood Unlocked shared a video of the moment with the caption: “#SocialiteSoundOff: we love this song too, but damn women! #Socialites, did this fan go too far by kissing #AliciaKeys on the cheek?!” Keys played his song “Empire State of Mind” when the overzealous fan grabbed his head and kissed his face. Keys looked surprised and a little shaken from now on.
The Keys artist, tagged in the post, responded in the comments. “Believe me; I thought, dammit…!!!!!!!! Doesn’t he know what time it is???” the singer wrote.
Keyes said he had no recollection of the incident. “I don’t remember anything,” he told Complex last year. “I think I’m very focused on appearances. Because when you perform, it’s a lot. You have to hit it. You have to grab it. You have to kill it. It has to be perfect.” Since then, his countless attempts to apologize to the stars have gone unanswered, says Kirkland, 32.
Keyes said during an interview with The Morning Hustle last October that the incident was water under the bridge. When asked if he forgave Kirkland, Keyes said, “Of course.”
“Back then. He was from NY too,” he said at the time. “You know, I think he felt the energy of the record and loved it, and he couldn’t help it. Look, that’s what my music does for people. What can we say?’
The Keys Soulcare founder is currently on the Alicia + Keys World Tour.
